Aventurine is a variety of the Quartz family of crystals, characterized by what is believe to be mica inclusions giving the stone a 'shimmery' look. It sits at a 7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. Aventurine comes in a variety of colors, the most common being a light green. 

These beautifully colored tumbled Aventurine stones have a mellow, opaque green coloring and are great for holding and have taken to the polish very well. These would make excellent pocket stones in the small size, or collection pieces in the large size!

Aventurine is thought to be a very positive stone associated with prosperity and diffusing negative situations. It is thought to reinforce leadership qualities, and promote compassion and empathy.  Green Aventurine specifically is thought to be a heart healer that settles nausea and dissolves negative emotions.
