Magnesite is a mineral with the chemical formula of Magnesium Carbonate, it possesses a layered structure with monolayers of magnesium alternating with monolayers of carbonate groups.

Magnesite makes a great bead as it can be polished and drilled, and it takes to dye very well. It is commonly mistaken for, and sold as, Turquoise. These beads in particular are a lovely blueish-green color and would work great with many beading projects because of their bright coloring!

It is believed that Magnesite is a powerful aid in visualization during meditation, helps in the development of psychic clarity, and imagination.
